Your tiny house.
The best of both worlds.

The Legacy brings certified Tiny Houses on Wheels and Park Models into intentional community, close enough to keep city life within reach and far enough away to enjoy a quieter pace.

Meet The Legacy

A vision shaped by twelve years of living tiny.

Jewel D. Pearson shares the journey behind The Legacy and the possibility it is being designed to create.

The city is within reach

Choosing tiny shouldn't have to mean leaving your life or connections behind.

Finding placement for a tiny house can mean moving so far out that work, healthcare, the airport, culture, restaurants, shopping, family, and the energy of the city all become harder to reach. You shouldn't have to feel banished because of your housing choice. The Legacy is designed around another possibility.

Connect

City life stays within reach.

Approximately 45 minutes from Charlotte, with Monroe nearby and access to the city when you want it.

Disconnect

Come home to a quieter pace.

Step away from the speed and noise without removing yourself from everything the city makes possible.

This is not either-or. This is AND.

Twelve years of lived experience

Not just imagined for tiny house residents. Designed by one.

I'm Jewel D. Pearson, known to many as Ms. Bohemian Soul. I designed and built my own tiny house and have spent 12 years living tiny, moving my home, teaching, advocating, and helping shape this movement.

I have relocated my home six times and lived in an RV park, the city, the suburbs, the country, and even the DEEP country. Every move taught me what a tiny house needs from the place around it, what makes placement feel safe, what creates belonging, and what residents should not have to sacrifice because of their housing choice.

I am a city girl, through and through, who initially resisted living in the country. I need the city's energy and familiarity, my connections, the pace, the culture, and the access. But the placement restrictions of tiny house living meant living in the country for much of this journey, and along the way, I realized I also needed some of what the country offered: quiet, space, simplicity, and a slower pace. I learned I needed and valued both.

I know the freedom of having your own space. I know the feeling of disconnection that can come with an extremely rural or solo placement. I know why access matters, why safety must be considered from the beginning, and why community should be available without overtaking your individuality.

The Legacy is not a developer's guess at what tiny house residents want. It is the result of what I have lived, learned, taught, and gathered over more than a decade.
